Do not waste your precious time going to the Cowboy Memorial in Walker Basin unless you are going just to say, "I've been there", or to shoot a couple of pictures. It's a tourist trap and not what it's cooked up to be! When you get to the actual Cowboy Memorial after loads of advertising signs along the way, it consist of a van, a trailer, and an actual semi-truck trailer that is the museum. There are some tables set up with bleached out bones and cow skulls laid out like old relics and a row of tall flag poles with flags. I took the drive again today as a tour guide for my mother's friend who is visiting here from England for two weeks. Thought I'd show her some of our finest tourist traps and some good ole' western hot spots!
